Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a prescription?

Your doctor can send in a prescription for Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. If you are looking for a provider, please click the button below to be redirected to our telehealth clinic.

How do GLP-1 Agonists work?

They work by mimicking a hormone that targets areas of the brain involved in regulating appetite and food intake. This can help you eat less, which can lead to weight loss.

What are the side effects?

The most common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, stomach/abdominal pain, headache, fatigue, upset stomach, dizziness, bloating, belching, gas, and heartburn.

If your side effects become too bothersome, speak with your doctor or call one of our pharmacists at 912-629-0444.

Tirzepatide Users: Birth control pills may not work as well while using Tirzepatide. Your healthcare provider may recommend another type of birth control for 4 weeks after you start Tirzepatide and for 4 weeks after each increase in your dose.

How are GLP-1 Agonists dispensed?

Semaglutide is available in 2 ml or 5 ml sterile vials. Each prescription includes insulin syringes and alcohol swabs. You or your provider will need to draw up your dose. For information on how to give a subcutaneous injection, please click here.

Tirzepatide is available in pre-filled syringes. Each prescription includes needles to attach to syringe and alcohol swabs. Please remove black rubber stopper before attaching needle.

What is the dosing?

Semaglutide 2.5mg/ml

• Month 1: Inject 0.1 ml once weekly as tolerated.

• Month 2: Inject 0.2 ml once weekly as tolerated.

• Month 3: Inject 0.4 ml once weekly as tolerated.

• Month 4: Inject 0.7 ml once weekly as tolerated.

• Month 5 and beyond: Inject 1 ml once weekly as tolerated.

Tirzepatide with B12 25mg-1mg/ml

• Month 1: Inject 0.1 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

• Month 2: Inject 0.2 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

• Month 3: Inject 0.3 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

• Month 4: Inject 0.4 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

• Month 5: Inject 0.5 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

• Month 6: Inject 0.6 ml once weekly for 4 weeks as tolerated.

What if I cannot tolerate the side effects of an increased dose?

• Go back down 1 step and continue for 4 weeks. Then you can try to increase your dose again. For example, if you increase to 0.2 ml, such as in Month 2, but are unable to tolerate it, then you would go back to a dose of 0.1 ml for 4 weeks before trying to go back to 0.2 ml.

• Doses can also be split throughout the week. Inject half of dose, wait 3-4 days, and inject the other half. For example, if your dose is 0.3 ml and need to split your dose, inject 0.15 ml, wait 3-4 days, and then inject 0.15 ml. Wait to draw the other half of your dose until you are ready to inject.
